We're picking up speed

In our last blog post, I told you about how Ray and I got to teach in the Discipleship Training School. That was great. And over the last two weeks, we feel like, things are picking up a little.

Ray has been making more connections to do refuge work. He and some of the other YWAM staff are planning a Christmas party for Afghans in December. Planning a party for central Asians can be tricky since you never know if and how many people will be showing up. It could end up being a really small family setting or a huge and loud party. Of course, we hope that a few people will show up. It would be a great opportunity to get connected. Please pray for the planning and for a loving connection. Besides that, Ray is planning the Bible school starting in April. That sounds like a long time away but it needs to be planned well. Advertising, getting students in, finding speakers, preparing teachings himself, yadiyadiyada. I have been a little frustrated lately. I want to work with homeless people so badly and it has been really difficult for me to get connected to ministries that are working with the homeless. Recently I have been able to connect to a ministry that organizes outreaches. I will be joining their next outreach on November 19. We will be giving out warm meals. By then it might be pretty cold in Minnesota.

Yesterday our students went on outreach with the homeless and I was able to join as well. A lot of great conversations happened and two people asked us for bibles. We were able to give it to them. We also brought lunch sandwiches and almost everybody was really grateful for these.

For me, it was actually the first time being out on the streets and visiting homeless people at their "homes". And it was a touching experience. There are so many wonderful people out there who need to be seen. I want God to send me. Some day I would love to have a building where homeless women and children can find a loving home. I know that there are not enough beds in shelters in Minnesota. Neither for men nor women. That breaks my heart. The winter is coming.

Other than these things, Ray and I are spending a lot of time at the YWAM base at staff meetings, prayer, and with the students. No worries, Nolan always decides how much I can be involved. He has priority.

What you can pray for:

- Discipleship Bible School -> (Students, planning, teachers)

- Connections to work with refuge-seeking people

- Christmas party with Afghans

- Connections to work with homeless people

We love to spend our time in ministry. We want God to send us. And we can't do it without help. If you want to support us financially you can do that here:

At the moment we are not able to rent an apartment and we have to move out of our current place in the first week of December. It was just a short-term solution and originally we were supposed to be out of here sooner. We need at least $1,000 more/per month since rent is quite expensive. Thank you for being part of this. It wouldn't be possible without you. God bless you!
