We made it

One week ago, we finished packing our belongings and giving away the things we couldn't take. We filled nine suitcases, two carryons, and three bags. We also brought a bassinet, two car seats, and a stroller, together with our two wonderful children who needed to be taken care of.

All in all, the trip went very smoothly. We had help when we needed it, and the kids did pretty well. We planned to stay in a hotel room for a few hours during the five-hour layover in Paris. However, the hotel was completely booked. That was frustrating only for a minute. We realized quickly how confusing the airport in Paris is and that we would have never made it in time to the gate if we had stayed in the hotel.

In Munich, we had no issues collecting our luggage and it was easy to get it to the door where our ride was already waiting for us. The night after the trip everyone slept very deep and long.

After that, we have been fighting with jetlag for a few days now. Especially the kids, which makes it our fight as well.

We already experienced a few prayer requests (besides the smooth travel):

We were praying to have a car quickly since there isn't much in the village and dependant on others to get things we need. There are cars at the YWAM base but we both don't drive stick shift, which is the most common kind here in Germany.

After searching online for a few days, I fell in love with a car. I looked at many other cars, but this one just stuck. We received some very generous donations during the last weeks and also our tax return. That gave us a budget to work with. I was test-driving the car on Friday.

When I arrived back at the dealership I found a watch in the car. A watch with wings (like for aviation) on the face. Ray is an absolute watch and aviation nerd. For me, it was God's "go" to the car. We were able to buy it in cash. Now we are waiting for the paperwork to be done before we can pick it up and drive it.

Another thing is housing. At the moment we can stay in a very small apartment. It is big enough to survive as a family. But we are encouraged to keep looking for something else. There might be a possibility to rent a house here in the village starting in early Fall. We are currently praying about it since the rent will be higher than right now but considering the big space it would be a low rent.

At the YWAM base, we have had a few days to get to know people, hear more about the vision and Ray got to talk about ministry with the leadership. He will share more about it later, but I can tell already: He will be very busy very soon.
